TMS Dry Ltd. is currently looking to recruit a Radio Navigation & Communication Operator who will support the requirements of the Radio Navigation & Communication Department as directed by the Radio Navigation Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor the operational status and performance of navigation, communication, and satellite systems across the fleet.
  • Provide technical support and first-line troubleshooting for GMDSS, ECDIS, Radar, AIS, GPS, VDR, BNWAS, VSAT, FleetBroadband, Starlink, and other bridge communication and navigation equipment.
  • Support vessels in diagnosing and resolving network connectivity, onboard IT infrastructure, and communication-related issues.
  • Coordinate service attendance, repairs, installations, annual surveys, and equipment certifications with approved service providers worldwide.
  • Maintain accurate electronic records of vessel equipment, certificates, software versions, service reports, and departmental documentation.
  • Monitor and follow up on vessel defects, technical recommendations, and outstanding corrective actions related to radio and navigation equipment.
  • Liaise with Masters, ETOs, ship staff, makers, and suppliers to ensure the reliable operation of fleet communication and navigation systems.
  • Perform additional technical and administrative duties related to Radio Navigation & Communication Department activities, as delegated by the Radio Navigation Manager.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

  • University degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, Maritime Studies, Marine Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Good knowledge of marine communication, navigation, and satellite communication systems.
  • Good knowledge of computer systems, IP networking, and Microsoft Windows environments.
  • Good command of English, both verbal and written.
  • IT literate, particularly with MS Office applications.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail.
  • Flexibility, ability to multitask, and work effectively in a dynamic shipping environment.
  • Previous experience in a maritime technical, radio-navigation, communications, or marine electronics position will be considered an advantage.
