Junior IT Administrator

Dorian LPG, a publicly listed liquefied petroleum gas shipping company and a leading operator of modern very large gas carriers, is seeking to employ a proactive Junior IT Administrator to join our team.
The ideal candidate should be highly motivated, hold a University Degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field and have up to 3 years of experience in in IT support, system administration, or helpdesk operations.
The Junior IT Administrator will support the daily operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of IT systems across Dorian LPG’s shore-based offices and vessel IT environments. The role is suitable for an early-career IT professional who wants to develop hands-on experience in infrastructure, endpoint support, Microsoft 365, maritime communications, cybersecurity basics, and remote vessel support.
The position requires strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to support users in a fast-paced maritime business environment where connectivity, availability, and reliability are critical.
Key Responsibilities
End-User and Endpoint Support
- Provide first- and second-level IT support to office users and vessel personnel.
- Troubleshoot Windows workstations, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and standard business applications.
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding users, including account creation, access rights, device preparation, and email setup.
- Maintain endpoint inventory and ensure devices are properly documented.
Microsoft 365 and Cloud Services
- Support Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, and basic Entra ID user administration.
- Assist users with email, calendar, Teams, and file-sharing issues.
- Support MFA, password resets, group membership, and mailbox permissions.
Maritime IT and Vessel Support
- Provide remote IT support to vessels, including troubleshooting basic network, communication, and endpoint issues.
- Assist with vessel IT equipment documentation, configuration records, and support tickets.
- Support maritime-specific systems under supervision, such as vessel connectivity, satellite communication equipment, onboard PCs, and operational software.
- Coordinate with vendors and senior IT staff for vessel-related IT incidents.
Infrastructure and Network Support
- Assist with basic LAN/WAN troubleshooting, including switches, firewalls, Wi-Fi, VPN, and internet connectivity.
- Support patching, updates, and basic server administration under guidance.
- Monitor backup status, endpoint health, antivirus alerts, and system availability.
- Help maintain IT documentation, diagrams, asset records, and support procedures.
Security and Compliance Support
- Follow company IT security policies and assist with their implementation.
- Support endpoint protection, patch management, and vulnerability remediation activities.
- Report suspicious emails, security incidents, or abnormal system behavior to senior IT and the
- Information Security Officer.
- Assist with access reviews and basic compliance evidence collection.
Required Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Up to 3 years of experience in IT support, system administration, or helpdesk operations.
- Basic knowledge of Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365, Active Directory / Entra ID, networking, and endpoint troubleshooting.
- Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, Wi-Fi, and basic firewall concepts.
- Good command of English, both written and spoken.
- Strong communication skills and service-oriented mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in shipping, maritime, offshore, or remote-site IT support.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Intune, Endpoint Central / ManageEngine, Defender for Endpoint,
- Fortinet, or similar tools.
- Basic knowledge of cybersecurity principles.
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Fundamentals, CCNA, or equivalent.
- Experience with ticketing systems and IT asset management platforms.
