The Ship Management Division of ENESEL Group based in Athens, Greece, presently operating a diverse fleet of 28 modern high specification tankers/containers and bulk carriers is currently looking for a highly motivated full-time Fleet Performance Engineer.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the collection of emissions data across all fleets throughout the year.
Monitors the data quality and communicates with the vessels or other departments for potential corrections. - Reports emissions data using our Verifier’s platform and performs necessary actions to complete the full annual reporting cycle, as required by the various environmental regulations (MRV- ETS, FuelEU, IMO DCS).
- Updates the environmental monitoring plans (SEEMP – MRV).
- Monitors the carbon intensity performance result across all fleets.
- Monitors fleet energy performance, detects causes for low or under performance and proposes corrective actions or measures.
- Develops and maintains the performance monitoring systems that the company uses.
- Evaluates alternative fuels and emerging energy-efficiency technologies, assessing technical feasibility, abatement potential and cost-effectiveness.
- Communicates closely with technical department and with the different departments of the company, as well as, with external parties on energy performance issues, ESG reporting, etc.
- Supports the company’s ESG and sustainability disclosures, ensuring consistency between regulatory emissions data and voluntary sustainability reporting.
- Monitors technological developments on innovative technical solutions and follows up developments on shipping environmental regulations.
- Responsible for preparing fleet performance assessment studies, under the guidance of the Company’s Fleet Performance Officer, for presentation to internal teams, management and external stakeholders, highlighting the benefits of decarbonization projects.
Requirements
- A degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering or a closely related discipline.
3 years of experience in technical department and/or performance department would be an advantage. - Proficiency in the English language (written and oral) is a firm requirement.
- Knowledge of environmental regulations and compliance requirements applicable to the shipping industry, with particular focus on MRV, EU ETS, FuelEU Maritime, and IMO DCS.
- Understanding of decarbonization pathways and the IMO GHG Strategy (net-zero by/around 2050), including alternative and low/zero-carbon fuels (LNG, methanol, ammonia, biofuels, hydrogen) and their well-to-wake emission framework.
- Previous experience with different type of vessels (tankers, bulkers and containers) is considered an advantage.
- Familiarity with energy-saving technologies and retrofits (e.g. hull and propeller optimization, waste-heat recovery, engine derating).
- Familiarity with Danaos ERP & DNV reporting systems is considered an advantage.
