Kyklades Maritime is looking for a Performance Engineer to join our Performance department to support data-driven decision-making across our fleet, from predictive maintenance to fleet-wide performance benchmarking and sustainability initiatives.

About The Role

As a Performance Engineer, you will play a key role in monitoring and improving vessel performance across our fleet, using data analysis to support predictive maintenance, benchmark performance, and guide sustainability initiatives. You will work closely with chartering, technical and operations teams to translate complex operational data into clear, actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse high-frequency sensor data received from vessel automation and machinery systems to provide decision support for the predictive maintenance of propulsive and auxiliary systems
• Monitor data quality trends across the fleet and recommend systemic improvements to data collection, reporting and validation processes for data error identification
• Translate operational data into customised commercial performance reports to deliver clear and actionable insights to chartering, technical and operations departments
• Establish and maintain performance benchmarks across the fleet. Identify underperforming vessels, conduct root cause analyses, and propose corrective measures
• Review and evaluate energy-saving devices (ESDs), decarbonization solutions and retrofit modifications to support sustainability targets set by the company

Requirements

• Master’s Degree (MSc or MEng) in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture or Mechanical Engineering
• Knowledge in one or more of the following areas: heat transfer, thermodynamics, marine engines and energy systems, ship dynamics and ship propulsion
• Solid programming skills (eg. Python/SQL/Matlab/LabVIEW)
• Excellent use of MS Office Suite
• Proficiency in English

Desirable

• Previous experience in data analytics/machine learning tools
• Experience in the commercial shipping sector (technical or performance department) will be considered a plus
