The fleet of Seaven is comprised of Greek flagged modern oil/ chemical tankers and self-discharging cement carriers.
The fleet of Seaven mainly trades across the Mediterranean, Black Sea and Northern Europe ports.
Seaven seeks a qualified Purchasing Coordinator.
Responsibilities
- Monitors all supply arrangements of vessels allocated to ensure the required delivery time, good quality and competitive prices.
- Issues purchase orders for approved cases and monitors readiness of goods.
- Makes forwarding arrangements for stores ordered.
- Cooperates with Superintendents and Heads of Departments regarding order processing.
- Investigates new suppliers and sources, in terms of best value, delivery schedule and quality.
- Compares and evaluates offers from suppliers.
- Negotiates prices with suppliers.
- Negotiates shipping rates with freight carriers.
- Makes arrangements with customs brokers to facilitate the passage of goods through customs.
- Contacts vessel crew for any clarifications needed regarding the orders placed.
- Maintains records of goods ordered and supplied.
- Organizes and updates database of suppliers.
- Builds and maintains good relationships with new and existing suppliers.
- Responsible for the timely and effective resolution of issues.
- Responsible for DANAOS System implementation.
- Compliance with purchasing policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- 3- 5 years’ professional experience in a Purchasing Coordinator role, in a shipping company.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Shipping Management.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, in Greek and English.
- Advanced computer skills: MS Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Familiarization with ERP systems and especially familiarization with DANAOS ERP system.
- Organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
- The ability to be proactive. Ownership, responsibility, and drive for continuous improvement.
