The position supports orders and timely deliveries of spare parts and equipment, negotiates delivery cost and ensures compliance with contractual obligations.
The areas of responsibility are:
- Review the vessels requisition lists and secure approval from the responsible Manager
- Send out inquiries for quotations to suppliers
- Monitor environmental and energy efficiency issues associated with the activities of the department
- Secure that shipments have arrived on time to destination and are cleared from customs, liaising with shipper and co-signee
- Evaluate offers received from various suppliers
- Make comparison tables and select the best suppliers based on the price, quality and previous experience
- Arrange meeting with the customers
- Check the related invoices for payment
- Develop and support new areas with suppliers
- Develop relationships with new suppliers
Education, Experience & skills
- Degree from Maritime University/BSc in Maritime Studies
- Excellent command of English language / Proficiency level
- Problem solving, attention to detail, project management skills
- Excellent interpersonal competence, teamwork, communication savviness
