KYKLADES MARITIME CORPORATION is looking for a motivated Junior ICT Systems Engineer to join our IT team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with foundational IT experience who is eager to develop their skills in a dynamic maritime environment. You will support both shore-based and fleet operations, working alongside seasoned professionals to maintain and troubleshoot our critical systems.
Key Responsibilities
- System & Network Support: Assist in the maintenance and monitoring of local network infrastructures, including firewalls, switches, and wireless networks
- Server Administration: Help manage and support our Windows Server and VMware virtual environments, performing routine tasks and basic troubleshooting
- User Support: Provide second-line helpdesk support to onshore and onboard users, resolving hardware, software, and connectivity issues
- Satcom Assistance: Support the team in monitoring and troubleshooting satellite communication (Satcom) systems to ensure vessel connectivity
- Active Directory & Identity: Assist with user account management in Active Directory, including creating/modifying accounts, managing groups, and applying basic Group Policies
- Documentation & Maintenance: Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, procedures, and network topology
Requirements
- Education: University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Experience: 1-3 years of hands-on experience in an IT support or junior engineering role (internships included)
- Technical Skills:
- Basic understanding of Windows Server (2016 or newer) roles and features.
- Familiarity with virtualization concepts (VMware or Hyper-V)
- Working knowledge of TCP/IP, subnetting, and basic firewall/routing concepts.
- Experience supporting Windows 10/11 and Microsoft 365 environments
- Exposure to Active Directory (user/group management)
- Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, good communication skills, and a willingness to learn
- Language: Excellent command of both spoken and written English
- Travel: Willingness and ability to travel occasionally (to vessels or other sites) as required
