DNV GL – Achieving Excellence: Techniques & Tools for total control

17 May 2016 @ 09:30 - 17:00

dnvgl

Introduction and Aim:
Today’s shipping industry faces a number of competitive pressures and challenges:
Fleet portfolio/shipping consolidation
Port consolidation
Utilisation and capacity management
Smart containers and ‘intelligent maintenance’
Landside logistics and efficiency pressures
Increased regulation and environmental pressures
Safety and security issues

The combined impact of these changes has transformed the nature in which commercial shipping organisations are managed both at an operational and strategic level. Cost pressures have significantly increased and a much higher level of operational excellence both from off-shore and on-shore staff is required.

This purpose designed 2-day course will firstly consider the impact of these changes on day to day operations at and then present a framework of universally applicable techniques that can assist staff in dealing with the increasing need for personal and operational efficiency.

The course will clearly outline how to improve both ‘personal efficiency’ and ‘personal effectiveness’, and the techniques are equally useful at work and on a personal level.

It will provide practical tools that will meet not only the demands placed on the individual by the ever changing business environment, but the demands of everyday life. The course will be ‘highly practical’ in nature.

This workshop is offered in cooperation with Sales Training, UK.

Training Methodology:
This will be a practical and interactive course. Participants will consider trends & concepts and relate them directly to their personal circumstances alongside those of their organisation. Participants will, for the most part, work in teams and engage in activities designed to ‘embed’ the learning including case examples, practical activities, and syndicate reviews. All participants will identify personal learning points and develop action plans to ensure that they maximise the impact of this session.
