About Us
Our origins in ship management services are routed well before 1907 when a company was established which eventually managed and controlled almost the entire fleet of Greek passenger vessels connecting the mainland with the Greek islands.
Building on this legacy, in 1972 our founder Mr. Simeon Palios set up a group of companies dedicated to the ownership and management of various types of dry cargo and refrigerated vessels for principals associated with us as well as for third parties.
In 1986, Diana Shipping Services S.A. or “DSS” was formed. Until the mid-1990’s, we primarily focused on managing second hand vessels. In 1996, our business focus turned also to newbuilding vessels. Since then, we have managed numerous dry bulk carriers and container vessels built from Polish, South Korean, Japanese and Chinese shipyards.
